Segal Gallery Exhibit: An Italian Sense of Place I Featuring works by Giuseppe Morandi and Micio, and Angelo Novi. Runs through Feb. 9 / 2008 Italian Sense of Place I presents two complementary yet contrasting views of the Italian post-war photo-documentary tradition: Morandi and Micio’s powerful black and white images witness the lives of ordinary people from the Po Lowlands of northern Italy from within that world while the film-set photography of Novi’s documentation of Bernardo Bertolucci’s epic film 1900 describe that same world through the visual language of the cinema.
